When we recorded this interview in 2016, Shirley Bachelder told us she talks to God constantly and has done so for most of her life. Born April 3,1921, Shirley says God has surrounded her with friends, seen her through tough times, and even given her the occasional restaurant recommendation. To say thank you, Bachelder wears flowers in her hair every day and says she wants to help God get an important message out to the world.
Shirley Bachelder was recently featured on the Get Your Spirit in Shape podcast.
Shirley recommends that people who seek God's guidance should make time every day to find a quiet place to talk to God and then listen for a reply. "I would say the back yard or the garage. Wait for 15 minutes. Just stand there and wait," says Shirley. Bachelder attends Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, Tennessee.
