In Proverbs 17:6, we are reminded, "Children's children are a crown to the aged." This short reflection lifts up the hopes and prayers that grandparents have for their grandchildren daily.
Perfect for sharing any time of year, in settings like worship, Sunday school or small group, or just sharing with your loved ones. The U.S. celebrates Grandparents Day each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day.
A Prayer for My Grandchildren
Dear Lord and Creator of All,
As I watch my grandchildren grow, I pray to you to protect them from any danger.
Watch over them so they never know want or hunger and thank You for the blessings of love, life and their daily meals.
Guide their actions so they get along with all persons they meet in their journey.
Guide their actions so that they are courteous and friendly. Instill in them a desire to learn so they can be informed and help others.
When they grieve, whether for a pet or any member of the human family, help them know that death and dying is part of our life.
I thank you for their lives and for the blessings they bring to me daily.
Amen.
